Wow, this is cool! What gave you the idea to implement this?

Thanks! :-D

At work we have a home-grown asset management web application. It was easy to make it show clickable telnet: links (Windows comes with a telnet: protocol handler), but who uses Telnet these days? I knew ssh: links from Linux (Gnome and KDE, more precisely), and I wanted to use them under Windows, too. Ideally PuTTY (our SSH client of choice) would handle such links itself, but its makers don't want to support non-standard URL schemes.

Some glue was needed to connect the web app and PuTTY. I'd have expected TweakUI to allow one to adjust URL protocol handlers, but it's not one of the many settings it offers. So I wrote UrlConf. All other features of it besides ssh: handling are just bonus material. :)
